Igniting Bright Sparks
The Bright Building is Manchester Science Partnership’s flagship 'living lab' for digital innovation in the city’s Oxford Road Corridor. The challenge was to develop a ground floor that would activate the building and engage the forward thinking companies looking to make this place their home.
Our role was to help MSP create an interior strategy that would support innovation. Working closely with lead architects BDP we helped to design a porous and welcoming open ground floor space that encourages collaboration by blurring traditional boundaries between work and social. The Bright Building has now become an exemplar in how to build a place that supports a culture of innovation.

"Sheila Bird's creative approach really helped energise a collaborative process to discover new possibilities for the building. Before the Bright Building was built we sat in our own little teams in separate clusters. The space not only allows us to sit together as one big team in a modern, bright and comfortable office, but provides staff with a gym, a cafe, outdoor area and places where they can get up and away from their desks to move around and be agile. It really is a modern, forward-thinking, energetic and thriving place to be."
