Contractors TMT Group needed a new headquarters that reflected their ambition to create a home for the business as they grow. A space that reflects their values, celebrates craft, and positions them as a leader in sustainable construction.
The goal was to inspire, educate, and tell the story of the people and processes behind the business across 3 floors. Every floor tells a story, turning everyday moments into experiences. This is The Art of Construction brought to life.
The Art of Construction
Guided by our creative idea, 'The Art of Construction', the HQ turns the building itself into a brand experience. The ground floor welcomes visitors with warmth and honesty, drawing staff and visitors into a warm, collaborative social space from the word go.
We introduced a new concept, The Construction Lab, which brings in the idea of an in-house workshop and showroom that celebrates construction experimentation the raw thrill of making. Up above, the atmosphere softens with lighter palettes and modular furniture, reflecting adaptability, comfort, and openness while encouraging innovation.
Story in the Detail
Vertical circulation becomes a story in motion. A bold spiralling staircase anchors the building and frames views across every floor, while a sensory lift surprises and delights with textured walls that respond to movement, transforming vertical travel into a playful, immersive experience.
Even the furniture and details carry meaning: I-beam tables and brick shelving act as artefacts of craft, while bespoke touches like an army of 3D-printed Lego figures and wall art installations featuring reclaimed materials and construction tools bring humour, narrative, and pride to everyday life in the HQ.
A Place to Support Culture
The TMT HQ does more than house a business. It expresses the company’s values, inspires collaboration, and encourages creativity at every turn. Workshops, exhibitions, and prototype testing extend its impact beyond the office, turning the building into a hub for knowledge sharing and positioning TMT as a thought leader in sustainable construction.
By blending practical functionality with immersive storytelling, the HQ transforms routine moments into experiences, making the space a living, breathing reflection of TMT’s craft, innovation, and forward-thinking spirit.
