So, who is Sheila?
This is a question we’re asked a lot. The answer lies in a tale of love and passion that is part of our origin story. Rewind 30 years, and you’ll find two ambitious entrepreneurs, Atul Bansal and his partner Jeff, in the early stages of building their interior design business. As they brainstormed names in their studio, a confident, sassy wallpaper sales rep named Sheila Bird walked through the door.
It wasn’t the vintage flock wallpaper that caught Jeff’s attention. Known for his roving eye and silver tongue, Jeff was a notorious flirt. Sheila knew his reputation and wasn't impressed..
One day, after consulting Atul, Jeff made a bold declaration, he told Sheila he was so smitten he’d name their new business after her. Sheila smiled and decided to give him a chance, and finally agreed to dinner. That night sparked a love story that led to a long, happy marriage. True to his word, he never had eyes for another woman again.
Though Jeff and Sheila have since passed, their legacy lives on in our name and our favourite saying: “Love Made Us Do It.”
